When people start searching for a new bed, they are often looking for more than just a place to lay their head; they are looking for a way to reclaim their room. The CALISMA Ortho Divan Bed addresses this directly by offering a robust divan base equipped with four storage drawers. We found that while the black faux leather finish gives a sleek, contemporary vibe, the utility is what truly sets this model apart for those living in smaller urban spaces. see its full feature set and user reviews

The modern divan has seen a massive resurgence for a reason. Unlike traditional bed frames that leave cavernous gaps underneath which tend to collect dust, a divan utilizes every inch of its footprint. The CALISMA Ortho Divan Bed takes this further by integrating four drawers directly into the base. We have observed that for anyone managing seasonal bedding, extra pillows, or even clutter, having that dedicated “extra room” of real estate hidden under the mattress is a game-changer for maintaining a tidy bedroom environment.

A bed and mattress set is more than just an item; it’s a key solution for those who want to coordinate their decor and comfort seamlessly. By purchasing the base, headboard, and mattress together, you ensure that the heights and support levels are compatible. The CALISMA Ortho Divan Bed is designed to solve the headache of mismatched components where a mattress might be too deep for a frame or vice versa.

The ideal customer for this type of product is someone moving into a new flat or home who needs storage without sacrificing a modern look. However, it might not be suitable for those who prefer a low-profile platform bed look or those who require a very high-end orthopedic specialty mattress. check the latest price and availability

Before investing, consider these crucial points:

• Dimensions & Space: The 135cm (W) x 200cm (L) size is standard double, but ensure you have enough clearance for the 50cm height and enough room for the drawers to open fully without hitting the wall.
• Capacity/Performance: The 7.5-inch mattress offers a medium-firm feel, but for heavier sleepers, a thicker profile might offer better long-term spinal support.
• Materials & Durability: The premium black faux leather is easy to wipe clean, but the internal construction of the drawers determines how long they will last under heavy daily use.
• Ease of Use & Maintenance: Since it requires self-assembly, consider whether you have the tools and a second person to help lift 35kg components.

While the CALISMA Ortho Divan Bed is an excellent choice for budget-conscious decorators, it is always wise to see how it stacks up against the competition. For a broader look at the top models, we highly recommend checking out our in-depth guide:

First Impressions and Key Features of the CALISMA Ortho Divan Bed

Upon unboxing, the first thing noticed about the CALISMA Ortho Divan Bed is the visual weight. The black faux leather has a subtle sheen that looks significantly more expensive than its price point suggests, providing a contemporary aesthetic. The 20-inch plain headboard is minimalist, meaning it won’t overwhelm a small room. However, the assembly process is where the reality check begins. With a weight of approximately 35kg, this is not a bed you should assemble alone. Compared to lighter-weight metal frames, this upholstered divan feels solid once bolted together, offering a stable foundation that minimizes squeaking when you sit up or down.

A Deep Dive into the CALISMA Ortho Divan Bed’s Performance

Assembly and Setup

The assembly of the CALISMA Ortho Divan Bed is a test of patience. In our testing, we found that while all necessary fittings are included, the headboard attachment can be tricky. The divan base sections are sturdy, but the alignment of the four drawers requires precision to ensure they slide smoothly. We noted that some users experienced frustration when the instructions were not perfectly clear, which is a setback. Once the base is joined and the headboard is secured, the structure feels incredibly rigid. It is vital to have a partner here, as the 35kg total weight makes it difficult to maneuver parts in tight corners. If you are a DIY enthusiast, you will find it rewarding, but do not expect a quick setup.

Mattress Comfort and Support

The included 7.5-inch Spring Memory Foam Mattress is the heart of the set. It combines a traditional spring system for airflow with a layer of memory foam for pressure relief. We found the surface to be particularly comfortable for side sleepers who need a bit of cushioning at the shoulders and hips. However, for back sleepers who prefer a very plush, cloud-like feel, the 7.5-inch profile might feel a bit thin. The “ortho” aspect of the name refers to the firm support provided, which helps keep the spine aligned—a major benefit for those who wake up with back stiffness.

Storage Utility and Build Quality

The four-drawer system is the primary selling point of the CALISMA Ortho Divan Bed. We found that the drawers are deep enough to hold several duvet sets or pillows. However, we must be transparent about the material quality; some users have reported that the drawer interiors are not as robust as the exterior faux leather. In our evaluation, for everyday items like off-season clothing, they perform perfectly well. The black faux leather itself is a highlight, being incredibly easy to wipe down with a damp cloth, which is a significant plus for households with pets or children.

What Users Are Saying

The feedback on the CALISMA Ortho Divan Bed is varied. While many users praise the delivery speed and the visual appeal of the bed, others have flagged concerns regarding the assembly process. One user noted a lack of clear instructions which made the headboard a struggle to install. Another mentioned that the material in the drawers felt more like scrap wood than premium timber. Despite these critiques, many agree that for the price, getting a complete set with storage is a high value. If you are willing to put in extra effort during setup, it remains a strong contender. a feature that sets it apart

In final analysis, the CALISMA Ortho Divan Bed is a functional, stylish choice that prioritizes space-saving storage. It isn’t a luxury high-end item, but for those looking to upgrade their bedroom on a budget, it delivers on its core promises.
